PRiME In the News: Collin Hitt on Homeschooling in Missouri
In November 2024, PRiME’s Dr. Amy Shelton and Executive Director, Dr. Collin Hitt authored a report: Taking Attendance: Estimating Homeschooling Populations in States without Official Homeschool Data – a Pilot Analysis in Missouri.
This report, focused on homeschooling in Missouri, found through estimations that of the over one million school-aged children in Missouri, 61,000 (6% of all school-age children) are homeschooled.
In December 2024, this report was featured at least 146 times on TV stations in more than 69 markets across America. Additionally, Dr. Collin Hitt spoke about their findings in several news outlets including articles featured in The Missouri Independent, The Springfield News-Leader, The Center Square as well as several other radio/podcast shows like Colombia Today, St. Louis Public Radio, and the Show-Me Institute, among others.
